Has anyone ever considered buying a replica life sized Star Trek Starship?

Posted: 19 Jun 2011 03:36 PM PDT

I need some financial advice, and my Yahoo friends never seem to disappoint. If anyone lives in Texas, and drives the I-35 corridor, there is a good chance you have seen the Pegasus Star ship on the side of the road near Ennis. The exit where it is located is Italy, Texas. Well I have made an offer on this property. After careful consideration I have cashed in my 401k, emptied my child's college savings and have taken our personal savings and put it towards this investment. My wife is considering divorce over this, but she needs to understand that I am the man and I make the decisions in the marriage.

What most people do not know is that this replica was based on Riker's ship before he found work on the Enterprise. I often find myself fantasizing that I am Riker, especially when I drive by this on my to or from someplace. I will stop by the side of the road and spend hours dreaming away. I will pretend my phone is my communicator and the radar detector is my tricorder. Ha! Sometimes I call my wife from the driveway and ask her to beam me into the house becuase I am too tired to walk and she hangs up on me.

When the technology becomes available I plan on installing turbo lifts, phase inducers and anti matter containment feilds. In the mean time does everyone think it is safe to have an ice cream stand where you live? I want to make this star ship into an ice cream space station but live on the property as well. Any advice?

You have a dream. You should be in this with the wife...don't give up your marriage over this. I love startrek...I got all kinds of stuff I collected in boxes. If my husband said give up your startrek stuff for me...I would tell him...I will put it in a neutral place where I can still have it and him...Startrek is just a show...a great one.

Where is Campobasso located in Italy?

Would this be an interesting area for me to visit this year?

I live 30km from Campobasso. I wouldn't say that it's one of the most beautiful area's of Italy, but it's still beautiful. It's in the region of Molise, which is the beginning of southern Italy. As with anywhere in Italy there is still plenty to see and do.

Things to see and do:

Monforte Castle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campobasso

Campitello Matese:http://www.campitello.com/component/opti…

Saepinum, archealogical site of roman ruins:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saepinum

Castelpetroso: http://www.santuarioaddolorata.it/

Santa Lucia Sanctuary: http://www.santuariosantalucia.it/ (i had to add this as ilive 2 minutes away!)

Campobasso is about an hour away from the adriatic coast, where from termoli you can get the boat to the Tremiti islands.

There are so many beautiful villages to wander around. Usually from about may to september there are festivities in various villages celebrating the different saints.

The biggest in Campobasso is Corpus Domini which falls in june.

In the area you will find good quality Tartufo, mozzarella, buffalo mozarella, olive oil and wine.
