Namun, penahanannya mendapat liputan meluas termasuk media luar negara. Short URL: http://www.keadilandaily.com/?p=12064 |
Posted: 23 Apr 2011 09:55 PM PDT It seems Utusan Malaysia carried a news report on my TV3 interview and a police report had been made by someone relating to this Utusan Malaysia report. So it was not about my June 2008 SD. It was also not about my TV3 interview. It was about the Utusan Malaysia news report. NO HOLDS BARRED by Raja Petra Kamarudin Just before the start of the Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement (MCLM) talk in Thailand at 6.00pm yesterday, a police officer attached to the Malaysian embassy in Thailand approached me and requested that I follow him to the embassy for my statement to be recorded. He informed me that a police officer from Kuala Lumpur, ACP Aziz, is in town waiting to see me. I asked him what the statement was in relation to and he informed me that it was about my Statutory Declaration (meaning, I assume, the one I signed in June 2008 -- since that was the only one I have signed). I told him I was prepared to go but only after the talk ends at 8.00pm. I also told him I was going to announce this and he agreed. I then informed Haris Ibrahim and Amarjit Sidhu about the matter and they went into panic mode. I only found out later that the Deputy IGP had also made a statement on the matter and that it was carried in the online mainstream media networks. During the two-hour talk and Q&A, my wife received many phone calls from other lawyers from various parts of the world as well as from friends and family who told my wife to not let me go into the Malaysian embassy. My phone was switched off, naturally, as I did not want any interruptions during my talk and this added to the panic when no one could reach me. When the talk ended my wife immediately confronted me and was almost in a state of hysteria. She was adamant that I am not going into the embassy and that there is no compromise on the matter. Haris and Amarjit told me that if I persist and refuse to listen to their legal advice then they are cutting off all links with me and will no longer have anything to do with me. I told Haris and Amarjit to discuss this matter with the embassy official, which they did, and they told him that if the police want to take my statement they could always come to the hotel to do it. It need not be done in the embassy. The embassy officer left and came back to the hotel a while later with two police officers. A heated discussion, which turned into a shouting match, ensued and it appeared like it was about to become something very physical. Both sides, the lawyers as well as the police officers, did not want to back down. My lawyers demanded to know what the whole thing is about. ACP Aziz appeared evasive and said that it is about my statement. "Which statement?" my lawyers asked, and they were told it is about the Utusan Malaysia report. It seems Utusan Malaysia carried a news report on my TV3 interview and a police report had been made by someone relating to this Utusan Malaysia report. So it was not about my June 2008 SD. It was also not about my TV3 interview. It was about the Utusan Malaysia news report. My lawyers then asked under which section of the law they are taking my statement. The police said it is under Section 203. Amarjit then told ACP Aziz that back in 2008 they had already taken my statement under Section 203. And my statement was taken under Section 112, which means I was being interrogated as a mere witness. However, they finally charged me under Section 501, which is for criminal defamation, and not Section 203, which is for making a false statement. ACP Aziz said that this was not his decision but the Attorney General's decision. Amarjit then asked to see a copy of this 14 April 2011 police report and ACP Aziz did not have it with him. He asked us to follow him to the embassy to see it and Amarjit and Haris said they are prepared to go to the embassy but that I am to stay in the hotel. The police wanted all of us to go to the embassy but Amarjit and Haris disagreed. Amarjit and Haris finally followed the police to the embassy while I waited at the hotel. They came back way past midnight and told me that they had to wait an hour for the police report to be faxed from Kuala Lumpur. It seems ACP Aziz did not have a copy with him. And the police report clearly stated that Utusan Malaysia had carried a report about my TV3 interview and that I should be investigated for it. The impression my lawyers got is that the investigation is against me and that it is focusing on the possibility that I lied in that TV3 interview. That is why the investigation centres on this police report and on Section 203. And that was exactly what happened back in 2008, which resulted in me being charged for criminal defamation. So we were seeing history being repeated here. After discussing the matter further, I told Haris and Amarjit that I will consent to my statement being recorded in spite of this utter confusion. They disagreed but finally relented on condition that I do not walk into the Malaysian embassy. This decision was relayed to ACP Aziz who lost his temper and said that he no longer wishes to take my statement. I then phoned ACP Aziz to inform him that I volunteer to make my statement but he told me the same thing he told Haris, that he is no longer interested to take my statement. And that was how the Bangkok drama ended at 2.00am this morning. For the record, I am prepared to give my statement. My lawyers, however, disagree because the police are vague as to the reason my statement is required but will compromise on his matter as long as it is not at the Malaysian embassy. The police are adamant that it must be at the embassy. - Malaysia Today So where do we go from here? |
Penyanyi buat persembahan bogel protes nuklear - Nude against Nukes Posted: 23 Apr 2011 09:21 PM PDT STONE : Penyanyi Malaysia tak nak buat show macam ni ke, protes Lynas di Gebeng? Cuba buat cadangan pada YB Hjh Fuziah MP Kuantan, tgk apa dia nak kata ... Nude against Nukes ... hahahaha ... A female Taiwanese singer will stage what she describes as a 'nude art action' in front of the Presidential Office on April 25 to call on the country's leader to place more importance on people's safety and say no to nuclear energy. "Our body is the most natural and direct weapon, " said 27-year-old Lee Mi. She caused a sensation five years ago by appearing naked, with the Chinese words "rather nude than nuke" written on her back, in a short video produced by a local environmental group. Lee Mi says she feels it is her responsibility to speak out against nuclear energy in the wake of Japan's nuclear crisis Lee said at an event on Thursday that as a singer, she feels it is her responsibility to speak out against nuclear energy in the wake of Japan's nuclear crisis, and she hopes her action will encourage more people to join in the effort. A drama major from National Taiwan University (NTU) , Lee would like President Ma Ying-jeou, also an NTU alumnus, to realize that history should not repeat itself. There should be no more nuclear catastrophes following the Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine and the ongoing nuclear crisis in Japan. She chose April 25 for her action to mark the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl, which occurred on April 26, 1986. Lee told reporters her mother is outraged by her decision, "but nudity is not a wicked act or something against morality. For me, it is a way to draw attention to the nuclear issue," she said. It remains to be seen whether the president will allow this on his office's doorstep. Under Taiwan's Assembly and Parade Law, nudity in public is banned as a protest tool. People can only shed clothing as part of an art action. Lee Mi may face arrest under the Social Order Maintenance Act, which bans nudity in public altogether. According to Evan Yo, Lee's agent, her nudity action next Monday will last for only a few minutes. A local band will accompany Lee's live performance, but they will keep their clothes on. 2 Tok Guru aset umat Islam, bukan sekadar PAS Posted: 23 Apr 2011 08:41 PM PDT Mohamed Zainal Abidin Hussin PASIR PUTEH, 24 April: Dua tokoh utama PAS, Tuan Guru Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat dan Datuk Seri Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang disifatkan aset penting umat Islam, malah untuk seluruh rakyat bukan sekadar kalangan orang PAS semata-mata.

However, following advise from Haris and another lawyer, Raja Petra decided not to go to the embassy and offered his cooperation as long as the statement was taken at his hotel. "The police officers came last night and we had a major argument over certain things. We asked to be shown the police report against Raja Petra and they said it was at the embassy and asked us to go there to have a look at it," Haris said. Posted: 23 Apr 2011 09:42 AM PDT Malaysia Today It seems the police want to record Raja Petra's statement under Section 203, a crime of making a false statement with regards to his TV3 interview in Perth, Australia. A police report was recently made against Raja Petra alleging that he lied in his TV3 interview. Haris and Amarjit had a heated argument with the police with regards to the purpose of taking Raja Petra's statement. They wanted to see a copy of the police report lodged against Raja Petra and demanded to know why the police want to take his statement with regards to his TV3 interview and not with regards to his June 2008 Statutory Declaration. The police then said that Haris and Amarjit would have to go to the embassy to see a copy of that police report. Haris and Amarjit agreed to follow the police to the embassy but insisted that Raja Petra remains at the hotel. It is currently a stalemate and no decision has been made yet whether Raja Petra will consent to his statement being recorded even if is done outside the embassy grounds. It appears the focus of the police investigation is on the 'lies' in Raja Petra's TV3 interview rather than the Statutory Declaration as initially announced. |

PETALING JAYA: Popular blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, who is presently in Bangkok, has decided not to go to the Malaysian embassy in the city as was asked to do so earlier today. Instead he has informed the Malaysian embassy officials that he was willing to meet them at his hotel in Bangkok tomorrow. Earlier today embassy officials have approached Raja Petra, popularly known as RPK, to be present at the embassy at 9pm tonight. "He was asked to make his way to the embassy in the Thai capital to have his statement recorded," said Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement president Haris Ibrahim. Haris said that Raja Petra was personally informed by Malaysian embassy officials to make himself present tonight. "However we (his lawyers) advised him not to go and he has agreed to listen to us," Haris told FMT. "We have informed the embassy officials that Raja Petra was willing to cooperate with them and the police. "He is ready to meet the officials tomorrow at his hotel, not at the embassy," he said. RPK is in Bangkok to attend an MCLM event. He is the president of the civil liberties movement. He met up with Malaysians and launched the Thailand Chapter of the Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement. "Embassy officials told him in person just before this afternoon at the MCLM event at the Florida Hotel in Bangkok to be present at the embassy right after the event," said Haris. Haris also stressed that RPK was not arrested by the embassy officials. "The officials told him that there were two police officials waiting to take a statement from him. We told them he will cooperate with the police, but not at the embassy. "We are now waiting for the embassy officials to revert to us after discussing with the police officials," he said. TV3 interview It is believed that RPK has been asked to give a statement involving his statutory declaration (SD) which he signed on June 2008. In his SD, he had claimed that he was informed by a senior military intelligence officer of the alleged involvement of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and wife Rosmah Mansor in the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu. However two weeks ago, RPK in a TV3 interview said that he was asked to discredit Najib so that another Umno veteran, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, can replace Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as the prime minister. He also said that PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim was aware of the plot. Following the TV3 interview, the police have taken statements from several individuals, including one linked to Anwar yesterday. - TMI |
Ops Trafik - Polis tak kan sorok belakang tiang lagi : Timb. - Bernama KOMEN yer ker.... cakap bukan main... baru tadi tgah hari polis traffic buat keje sorok balik tembok kat bawah jejantas perling kat jb.... aper cete nie?
