Without any bias or moronic comments, what does the world think of Mexican soccer and its National team?

Do you consider Mexico's national team as a powerhouse when it comes to soccer ? As a good, above average team that is close to becoming a powerhouse?, or a team that is not even close to competing against the likes of France, Brazil,Argentina, Italy...etc. I would like to hear the opinions of people from around the world not just from North,Central, and South America (where there tends to be mored biased answers).

Since '93 onwards, they've improved alot. They've beaten Brazil in their last two encounters. They've also beaten Argentina in the 2004 Copa America. France had no easy time beating them in a warm-up match prior to the 2006 WC. Italy had their hands full and only tied them at their last major competitive encounter--the 2002 WC. I'd say Mexico is certainly a rising force.
