Cadangan Kurangan Kakitangan Awam Berbangsa Melayu & Wujudkan Sistem Kuota!! Apa Kata Penjawat Awam? Janji ditepati? Read More / Baca Lagi >> |
Posted: 18 Jun 2012 10:41 AM PDT The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) is tired and frustrated. More than a decade has passed and "none" of their reports and recommendations have ever seen light in parliament. The commissioners have just finished a rigourous 10-day National Inquiry on Land Rights of Indigenous People in Malaysia and will now have to collate their thoughts and sitdown to discuss the issues raised and heard. They've gone through this motion countless times on multiple issues. But in the end, their words and thoughts stay bound within the covers of their annual report. Apparently no 'politically powerful' folk ever read their recommendations. Said an exasperated Suhakam chairman Hasmy Agam: "For the past 11 or 12 years in terms of Suhakam annual reports is that none have been discussed or debated in parliament. |

Mahathir pushing for violence if Umno loses? Posted: 18 Jun 2012 10:23 AM PDT Even as a recent debate brought together Keadilan strategy director Rafizi Ramli and Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, which was deemed as the beginning of a new healthy and mature political culture, Malaysians were shocked by a sudden series of brutal actions against Pakatan Rakyat leaders and their programs. The series of attacks On May 24, at Pantai Dalam, the media reported stones and eggs being thrown at Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim while he was speaking, resulting in a senior citizen injured on the head. A 12-year-old child, Nurul Balqis also sustained injury when a stone about the size of a fist was hurled at her. According to witnesses, the stone was thrown from the Umno side of the audience. A passionate slanderer, Ummi Hafilda Ali also spoke directly to the audience at the Pakatan Rakyat program, answering the issues raised by the Pakatan speakers who watched from close by. |
Scorpenes and Lynas: Going to foreign courts to get justice Posted: 18 Jun 2012 10:20 AM PDT PKR MP for Kuantan Fuziah Salleh warned over the weekend that efforts to stop the operations of the Lynas rare earth plant may eventually end up in a foreign court. One may wonder why we would need outsiders to be involved in our internal matters. Sad to say, this is a sign of how untrustworthy our judiciary system is today! So, why can't we depend on our own judiciary system to achieve justice? The answer goes back to the time when Mahathir Mohamad was in power, and it was for a long time. He was prime minister from 1981 to 2003, so imagine the damage wreaked. Mahathir wanted everything to be done according to his wishes and in his own way. When the judges interpreted laws according to their own understanding, Mahathir got mad and removed them. He found replacements who would toe the line and delivered verdicts that met with his approval. |
‘Cannibalising’ Felda listing bad for settlers Posted: 18 Jun 2012 01:59 AM PDT The public listing of palm oil giant Felda Global Ventures Holding Sdn Bhd is canibalising its subsidiaries in order to artificially inflate its attractiveness, says Tony Pua. KUALA LUMPUR: DAP lawmaker Tony Pua alleged that the public listing of Felda Global Ventures Holding Sdn Bhd (FGVH) is potentially detrimental to both settlers and employees. He said this is because profits of FGVH are being "artificially" inflated by cannabilising on the profits of its subsidiaries. The listing is scheduled to take place at the end of this month. Pua revealed today that a concession contract signed on March 1 between FGVH and Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd (FPI) "forces" the latter to sell all of its crude palm oil to FGVH. Previously, FPI would purchase raw palm oil from plantations and sell it directly to refineries, traders and other users. Read More / Baca Lagi >> |
We won't come home to vote...but we are with you! Posted: 18 Jun 2012 01:58 AM PDT They may call us traitors to our own country.
