'Ancaman sasar Ambiga kerana dia India, wanita' Posted: 23 May 2012 09:03 PM PDT Sasterawan Negara Datuk A Samad Said berkata Pengerusi Bersama BERSIH Datuk S Ambiga menjadi sasaran "ancaman" pelbagai pihak disebabkan beliau keturunan India dan seorang wanita.

All eyes on Najib to confirm Khairy's claim Tajudin's debt not written off Posted: 23 May 2012 08:57 PM PDT Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin has claimed in his debate with PKR Director fo Strategy Rafizi Ramli 2 days ago that he is "certain that Danaharta didn't incur losses in the Tan Sri Tajudin Ramli case". In fact, the Umno Youth chief cited "sources" claimed that Tajudin may have even paid more than the amount owing, as a result of the undisclosed out-of-court settlement. "We don't know the outcome as it was done out of court. (The opposition) says Tajuddin need not pay, but they don't say that maybe the settlement involved paying part of the debt or maybe more than the RM500 million owed." KJ completely unbelievable |
It’s time to police the police force Posted: 23 May 2012 08:56 PM PDT The cry for an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission is long overdue and yet the Home Ministry feigns ignorance each time police brutality makes the news. Mohd Safuan Mamat, 24, a Bersih supporter turned up at the Dangi Wangi police station on May 14 to give a statement concerning his involvement in Bersih 3.0. Instead, he ended up fearing for dear life when the cops there turned violent when Mohd Safuan refused to "colloborate" with the cops that he had smashed a police car during the riot. The manner in which Mohd Safuan was treated by the police is worrying. After giving his statement, he was taken to the lock-up behind the station, handcuffed and detained for the night. When he refused to be party to a lie, he was allegedly beaten up, first by the cops, and then by the prisoners. Read More / Baca Lagi >> |
Posted: 23 May 2012 04:32 PM PDT AT Umno's 66th anniversary celebrations, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak laid out seven principles to guide voters in the next general election. I noticed that some of the points were repetitive. For example, point number four was about economic management and point number six was about change and reforms. Doesn't much of the latter have to do with the former? Point number five was about preserving harmony in the country and point number seven was about preserving harmony to ensure the country becomes a high-income economy. Not only is the harmony part a repeat of point five, isn't the economic part a repeat of points four and six? It's all very confusing because the points seem to blend into each other. So, I asked myself, as a voter, what would be the seven points that I would consider in an election? |
Former S-G in Anwar’s team raises doubt over Sodomy II, says BN Posted: 23 May 2012 04:31 PM PDT KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 — Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders have questioned Datuk Yusof Zainal Abiden's entry into Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's legal team, saying it raised doubt over the opposition chief's acquittal of sodomy just four months ago in which the former Solicior-General II led the prosecution. Read More / Baca Lagi >>They told The Malaysian Insider that Yusof's move was "unprofessional" as it damaged public perception of the trial which lasted two years and saw Pakatan Rakyat (PR) repeatedly claim that evidence had been tampered with. "He should not have joined Anwar as it creates doubt in people's minds that he purposely made the (sodomy) case fail," Umno's Pulai MP Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamad said yesterday. His fellow BN backbencher from Pasir Salak, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, also said Yusof's "integrity is in question as some may think he was a 'Trojan horse' and colluded with Anwar in the sodomy trial and was not serious about getting a conviction." The sodomy charge, which was the second that Anwar has faced in just over a decade, had garnered international attention, with the opposition leader and other critics claiming it was politically motivated. But Anwar claimed a symbolic victory on Tuesday in having the former No. 3 in the Attorney-General's Chambers join his defence against an illegal assembly charge, claiming that Yusof did not want to be a part of what he called the "dirtiness". |
Rafizi Ramli - From unknown to exposé man Posted: 23 May 2012 04:28 PM PDT PKR strategies director Mohd Rafizi Ramli was little known outside his party until in November last year, when he started revealing, in tantalising bits and pieces, what would become known as the National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) scandal. But unlike other spurious allegations made about ministers and agencies linked to the government, the NFCorp exposé was backed by documentation on the misuse of a RM250 million government soft loan for the National Feedlot Centre, a cattle-breeding project under NFCorp in Gemas, Negri Sembilan. Part of the money was used to purchase luxury condominiums, vacations and a Mercedes-Benz car – the details kept coming, so much so the wife of NFCorp executive chairman Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Mohamed Ismail, the then Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, ended up resigning under pressure. |

Read More / Baca Lagi >> |
