Najib draws attention to Muhyiddin's racial glow with Malay-first M'sian-next talk

Najib draws attention to Muhyiddin's racial glow with Malay-first M'sian-next talkAmid growing talk of a power challenge within the UMNO party, Prime Minister Najib Razak raised eyebrows with comments that some see as deliberately highlighting the perceived racial bias of his deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin.
At the 5th Annual Malaysian Student Leaders Summit on Sunday, the PM was asked if he saw himself as Malay-first and Malaysian-second or vice-versa. Muhyiddin had kicked up a huge storm of anger amongst the non-Malays when he said a year ago that he was Malay-first and Malaysian-second.
Despite the jeers, the move helped Muhyiddin to gain favour with some of the Malay electorate and also with the right-wing faction in UMNO. It was Najib who had to back off his multi-racial 1 Malaysia slogan and New Economic Model.

The prime minister, however, had never specified which stadium Bersih could hold the July 9 rally at when he made the offer.
"I offered a stadium. You can show dissent in a stadium, but they still wanted to do it on the streets.
"I had in mind the Shah Alam stadium, that was the best option," Najib said today during his speech at the closing of the Malaysian Student Leaders Summit (MSLS) here.
He also accused Bersih today of rejecting his stadium offer despite the electoral reform group's widely publicised concession to conduct the rally in a stadium.

Ahaaks : Najib dodges ‘Malaysian first, Malay next’ question

Najib justified his refusal to answer today by saying that he didn't want it to appear as if he and his deputy had a difference of opinion. — file pic
KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak kept mum today when asked to state whether he was a proponent of his own two-year-old 1 Malaysia policy that espouses being "Malaysian first". The country's sixth prime minister was responding to questions posed by Malaysian students at the Malaysian Student Leaders Summit (MSLS) here.
A student had asked Najib whether he was prepared to state that he was Malaysian first and what he thought of his deputy, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's infamous remark of being "Malay first and Malaysian next."
Najib did not answer the question directed at him.
"I don't want to respond in a way that will divide me from my deputy.

UMNO, Najib and the 24 million ring

Rosmah and her USD120,000 Birkin handbag, one of the many she has in different colours

By ViewAct
Has it ever crossed your mind how and why dirt keeps being kicked up against PM Najib and his wife recently? Yet there doesn't seem to be much activity from his deputy. Have you also noticed that not many came to Najib's rescue when he screwed up big time against Bersih 2.0? Instead of his "Championed" Malay brothers, we saw MCA sending two representatives trying to shine his dirty shoe but to no avail.
We also have a 24 million ring, and a "worth-a-fortune" bracelet allegedly belonging to the wife of the PM, and its photo and custom screenshot of the alleged purchase surfacing all over the internet. Well, this too receives much lesser "backing up" from all PM Najib's assistants.
What is wrong with them now? Aren't they very good at jumping at trivial issues to "show" that they are loyal to the President, and display the "Please do notice me and pull me up and give me a ministerial post or something like that" attitude?

Jangan temberanglah, Najib

JULY 31 — I have watched from afar how the prime minister and his administration have squirmed and twisted and justified their handling of Bersih 2.0 and shown their reluctance to discuss meaningful electoral reform.
Very little has surprised me about an administration that is bereft of principle and function on the basis of spin and half-truths. It is quite obvious that the government believed that it could kill off Bersih by tough action and threats of intimidation.
When this did not happen, Najib tried a different tack: that the government was reasonable but Bersih was bent on causing havoc on the streets. His administration also spread the word that if the electoral system was skewed, there is no way the Opposition could have snared five states.

Saya sebenarnya mahu beri Bersih 2.0 Stadium Shah Alam, kata Najib..ha..ha..ha...apa citer nie...!!!!

Posted: 31 Jul 2011 07:20 AM PDT

Pru-13: Kempen perkauman racun berbisa

Read More / Baca Lagi >>

OTB (4+1) optimisme PAS tawan Terengganu

GE-13: Only one chance to vote out BN

Posted: 31 Jul 2011 07:05 AM PDT

GE-13: Only one chance to vote out BNDespite the popularity of Pakatan Rakyat the 13th general election is still a David vs. Goliah contest on an unlevel playing field where the incumbent has colossal advantages in media, money and machinery.  BN controls all the levers of power including the most crucial one, the Election Commission and is not ashamed to use whatever means - fair or foul - to beat off the PR challenge, mostly foul.
Given the unevenness of the contest I venture to say that the 13th G.E. will be more of a contest on whether BN can regain its two-thirds majority rather than a frenzied fight for Putrajaya. The two most crucial states to the campaign, namely Sarawak and Sabah which together contribute 25% of the parliamentary seats still remain BN's fixed deposit to a large degree. In Sabah the illegal immigrants absorbed into the electoral rolls have undermined the right to self-determination of native Sabahans.
