If i move to europe what language should I learn?

Posted: 21 Jul 2011 10:24 PM PDT

Im not really sure where i want to move yet but right now im learning German and its going pretty well. I either want to move to Germany, Italy or France.

So should i just learn either german, italian, or french? And between Italian and Frech which is easier?

Answer on If i move to europe what language should I learn?

German is spoken in Germany, Austria and the biggest part of Switzerland.

French is spoken in France, in half Belgium and in a big part in Switzerland.

Italian is spoken in Italy and in a part in Switzerland.

Italian is easier then French because French is hard to write, read and pronounce. But the grammar is nearly the same as in Italian.

You should learn the language of the country where you want to move. In Europe nearly every country has its own language.

Do I Need a Visa To Stay in Italy For 6 Months?

Posted: 21 Jul 2011 11:04 AM PDT

Hi

I am thinking of travelling to Italy and France for 6 months and wanted to know if I would need a visa? The longest I will stay in one place is 4 months but will be in Europe for 6 months in total. I am from Australia.

Thanks for the help!

Jess

no i don't believe you need a visa for that period of time. technically you are only supposed to stay in either of those countries for a maximum of 3 months, but this is not really enforced. if you really wanted, you could apply for a schengen visa, but i don't believe it necessary. make sure you have a return ticket, or ticket to leave the country you are in and you will have no problems. avoid the UK if possible.

EDIT - aiddog5 is totally wrong! australians are able to pass freely, without a visa for varying time periods, through the majority of countries.
