Dual citizenship in special circumstances?

Posted: 02 May 2011 02:30 AM PDT

I know the basics but how does it work in differents situations such as:

A) the parent's have citizenship in 2 different countries but the child is born in USA

B) The mother is a dual citizen of 2 countries ex. Greece and Japan and the father is a Japanese citizen but the child is born in America

C) same as last but the parental citizenships are reversed

D) the mother is a dual citizen of Spain and America and the father is American

E) same as last but parental citizenships are reversed

F) mother is a dual citizen of America and Japan and the father is a dual citizen of Greece and America

G) the mother is a dual citizen of China and Japan and the father is a dual citizen of Italy and France but child is born in USA

How would the citizenship be determined in these

situations? Also the countries used other than the USA are just examples. Please don't go into detail about Greece's laws or something like that.

Answer on Dual citizenship in special circumstances?

Dual citizenship is allowed as long as one parent is a citizen of a specific country. We are the only country that offers citizenship to anyone born on US soil, aircraft, or US Ocean Liners. Unfortunately, that is still a law in this country that has been exploited in the extreme and those morons in Congress have still NOT yet made the very needed change.

If a person were a citizen of a country and they make a Pledge to the United States or any country... they automatically revoke the other citizenship. If the Petitioner has a parent or a Grandparent as is the case in Europe, that person is automatically grandfathered. For example, If a US Citizen is second generation American and whose grandparents were from Europe, it automatically entitles the parents and their children European citizenship.

Okay I'm going to take a stab at this... its been a long time and I'm not doing any fact checking.

1. Italy was the center of the Roman world and reminders of Greek and Roman art, architecture, and great written works were all around.

2. Strong merchant class- The upper tier in Italy was not royalty but business owners who had the extra cash to pay for great works of art.

3. Location of Italy in the Mediterranean- gave Italy exposure to new ideas because of trade with non-western nations.

These are more or less long term reasons... I know there are short term reason also. but I hope this is a good start to the discussion.
