How much can i take with me on the plane if i am an army wife with a visa moving to italy? Posted: 27 Apr 2011 06:37 PM PDT Answer on How much can i take with me on the plane if i am an army wife with a visa moving to italy? US Military personnel are allowed generous extra baggage allowance when traveling on orders with most US airlines. I don't think wives of military personnel are allowed extra baggage, so you most likely will have to abide by the same rules as other passengers. You might want to give your airline a call and ask, if you're bringing items for your husband, hopefully a sympathetic agent or supervisor can accomodate you. At least I hope they would.

Where can I get a phone card online for CHEAP that I can use when I go to Europe? Posted: 25 Apr 2011 06:59 PM PDT I'm going to Europe from July 8th - 24th. I want to be able to call home for cheap every so often. I will be in Amsterdam, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, and England. Ideally, I'd like ONE CARD to work for all these places. Where can I buy a phone card online for cheap that can serve this purpose? Answer on Where can I get a phone card online for CHEAP that I can use when I go to Europe? I would recommend Euro Saver phone card http://bestratescall.com/cards/Super_Sav… for long calls to USA. This card is one of best calling cards for long distance phone calls from european countries With USD 20.00 you can talk from Austria 2110 min, from Netherlands 1110 min, from Italy 2110 min, from Switzerland 2110 min, from France 1900 min… For cheap calls from Germany and UK I'd recommend USA Saver phone card http://bestratescall.com/cards/USA__Save… From Germany to United States with Local Access USD 0.5 ? /min and from England to United States USD 0,7 cents per min.
Is $2150 Canadian Dollars enough for a 1 week vacation for 2 in Rome, Italy? Posted: 25 Apr 2011 02:46 PM PDT Answer on Is $2150 Canadian Dollars enough for a 1 week vacation for 2 in Rome, Italy? $2150 Canadian Dollars is about 1,565 euro at the current rate. When you exchange from Canadian dollars to euros, you'll lose some value due to a lower exchange rate and/or commission for the transaction. However, that should leave you with a little more than 100 euro per day per person and you can spend a week here on that - especially if you plan to stay in a hostel. That is assuming that you don't need to cover airfare out of that. You can find hostel prices on sites like: http://www.hostelbookers.com/hotels/ital… You might want to consider the Roma Pass which get you free entrance to a couple of attractions and discounts on others plus public transportation: http://www.romapass.it/?l=en You might even be able to take a day trip or two using the trains: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepag… - The regional trains are cheaper than the fast trains, but take longer. Food is generally cheaper and better if you're away from the immediate area of the tourist attractions. a pizza will typically run you 8 to 13 euro. Pizza by the slice or panini are 4 to 7 euro. You can also find pasta and other dishes at reasonable prices. Restaurants post menus and you can check while you're out exploring to find places that meet your budget.
Was this a signal from gerrard and torres that they had enough? Posted: 23 Apr 2011 03:19 PM PDT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDtADA5NS… i think it was. torres seen his number he looked straight at gerrard... then gerrard turned away in disgust... i think this is the last straw for the players and for rafa... you should always have your best players on the pitch if they are fit enough to play. the fat waiter is probably thinking he can get better job opportunities somewhere in spain or italy if he wins the europa league rather than getting the 4th place we need... we should be trying to get both not just the one. i think this may be the last season we see gerrard and torres on the same team unless that idiot is got rid of.... joke of a manager he is. i dont know why anyone else would want him now after seeing how much he has managed to "wreck" the team in one season... Answer on Was this a signal from gerrard and torres that they had enough? truth is - we created more chances with Ngog on the pitch than with a half fit torres Yes he missed them - but they were similar chances to the ones that Torres missed when left on against Wigan and Benfica. If Rafa goes - Torres will definitely go - he has already said as much. Rafa has turned down plenty of job offers in Spain and Italy. how exactly did he wreck the team in one season? By selling players who were going to leave the next season on a free transfer if they weren't sold? By injuring the entire first team squad himself ? By deliberately making a profit every transfer window since the yanks arrived and buying his 3rd or 4th choice player for each position?
What were two reasons for Rome's success in expanding its power across italy? Posted: 22 Apr 2011 01:08 AM PDT Global history please help me. Answer on What were two reasons for Rome's success in expanding its power across italy? The most important feat in Rome's success in conquering Italy was its conquest of the Samnites, (in the Abruzzi and Molise regions) their greatest foe in this. This was facilitated by a treaty the Samnites signed that was especially disadvantageous to the Samnites, concerning a boundary along the Larii river. Rome's further conquests were facilitated by a system of roads leading from Rome to its foederati - so called "allies" - in the rest of Italy. These allowed Rome to send troops to this areas quickly and efficiently. Her rule was ironically consolidated by a rebellion, which led to the Roman Civil War, also called the Social War. The only way Rome was able to win this war (led by Samnites) was by offering the foederati what they asked for, which was full rights as Roman citizens. Italy emerged from this war, more united than ever.

However the thing is I catch him staring at me quite a lot and today he asked me to help him pull this lid of a pen (it was stuck) and our hands were touching and everything quite a lot when he could have asked one of his friends to help. He talks to my friend quite a bit but when he does his eyes kind of go towards me. Although he says he thought this girl who lives in italy and was at our school for one week (she came on monday and leaves tomorrow) was fit he only said it after all his friends agreed with the person who said it first. I dunno. What do you think? Answer on DOES this guy FANNY ME? I can't stop laughing at this question so sorry |
What do you guys think about the Shroud of Turin? Posted: 18 Apr 2011 07:47 PM PDT I think it's authentic, here are my reasons: -There are traces of type AB blood, the same type of blood on the Sudarium of Oviedo, which was used to wash Jesus' face. -No one has ever been able to recreate the image. -The image can only be made from a power blast of radiation. -It is believed to be a negative image, as the negative pictures of it appear to be better than the positives. A negative image is caused from light -It has a credible history (After Christ's ascension, the shroud, which was first seen in Christ's empty tomb, was taken to Edessa, to a king that Jesus promised to heal. The shroud healed the king and remained in Edessa until the 10th century, when Muslim leaders began to man-handle the shroud. A Byzantine force took the shroud to Constantinople and paraded it around the city with the face facing up [thus originated the Eastern-Orthodox Feast of the Holy Face]. In 1204, the crusaders that sacked Constantinople brought the Shroud to Europe. It satyed in the house of a night until the 14th century [even still, at that time it was called the Edessa Cloth] where it was examined by the Catholic Church. The Church called it a fraud [the only way to prove it's authenticity with modern day science, which was lacked in Europe at that time]. It was then brought to Turin, in northern Italy, where it was caled the Shroud of Turin). Answer on What do you guys think about the Shroud of Turin? There is no conclusive evidence that the AB blood type occurs any earlier than 700 C.E. The Sudarium has also been dated with radiocarbon testing, and both times it was dated around the 7th-8th centuries C.E.
Registered partnership in Sweden? Posted: 18 Apr 2011 03:55 PM PDT Hello, I would like to know what I need to do to become a Registered partnership in Sweden. I am from Italy and I have been living with my girlfriend for 3 years. She is not EU so she needs to apply for a residence card here in Sweden. In order to do this, we need to provide a registered partnership certificate to the Immigration. Does anyone know how to get a registered partnership certificate? Thank you very much for your help. ciao Answer on Registered partnership in Sweden? You should first know that a registered partnership is the same thing as a civil union. In other words, it's basically marriage without the church under Swedish law. You don't say where you've been living with your girlfriend, which is needed to give you the correct information. Are both of you currently in Sweden, or Italy, or are you now living in separate countries? If you're both in Sweden: -First you have to fill out a form that shows there's no reason the two of you can't form a partnership (ie you're not already married). Unfortunately, I can only find the form in Swedish. If you visit your local Skatteverket office, they may have it in English or be able to help you fill it out (if you don't read Swedish). Then you return it to your local tax office (skattekontor). They send back a certificate once everything's checked out. http://www.skatteverket.se/blanketterbro… Then you need to look up marriage/partnership officials (vigselforrattare) in your area to book a time to sign the papers. This is handeled by Lansstyrelse. You need to pick your lan and follow the links to the vigselforrattare list. http://www.lansstyrelsen.se/lst/sv/amnen… If one or both of you are outside of Sweden, you need to contact Migrationsverket for help. I believe that you need to have been in Sweden for 2 years before you can bring her in as a partner to be registered in Sweden. Otherwise, you would likely need to do it in Italy.. but I don't think Italy has registered partnerships (maybe you know this better than I do). It may require marriage in Italy in this case, but the information isn't really clear. The migration office will be able to help. http://www.migrationsverket.se/info/1610… http://www.migrationsverket.se/info/kont…
Posted: 17 Apr 2011 06:35 AM PDT Hi, So I just graduated AIT and am currently on 2 weeks HRAP (which I know does not count as chargeable leave) and then I will have two additional weeks of regular leave afterward. At a rate of 2.5 days per month, soldiers may earn up to 30 days leave per year. My question is, if straight out of AIT I am allowed to take 14 days leave, does that mean I will not be able to take leave again for six months? I think thats the way it will work out but I just wanted someone to double check. I leave for Germany in October and my husband and I were very excited because we always wanted to go to Italy for our honeymoon but couldn't afford it (we didnt have a honeymoon at all) and were happy to find out that we would be spending our one year anniversary quite close by and were hoping to be able to take a few days leave to celebrate our anniversary in Italy however it looks like I wont have any leave available at that point... which means we probably wont be able to go....can anyone offer any advice or anything Im missing here? Thanks Answer on Army Leave Question- Help? You can take leave whenever you want. There is no rule saying that leave can only be taken every 6 months. However, when you turn in your DA 31 Leave Form, it has to be approved by your chain of command and it is unlikely that it will be approved since you are a new private who just got to the unit. If you wish to take leave and do not have the right amount saved up, you can request advanced leave. This is leave that is given to you ahead of time and you will automatically pay it back in subsequent months.

How much does an iPhone 4 cost in Rome? Posted: 14 Apr 2011 04:30 PM PDT I'm visiting Rome soon, and I'd like to purchase a contract-free (unlocked sim) iPhone 4 (16GB). I saw prices in Italy from July, which was 660 Euros, which is A LOT. Did the price decrease since then? Also, can you recommend a well-known store to buy it from (preferably a chain of stores like Best Buy, etc.)? Thanks! :) Answer on How much does an iPhone 4 cost in Rome? Alas, the lowest price is still 659 Euro (16 GB). Italians are aware in Switzerland the same model cost 769 CHF, near 570 Euro... Unlike other brands, Apple itself keeps a tight control over prices, so we know who's to be blamed for that.
How do you get the best exchange rates on currency ? Posted: 14 Apr 2011 03:55 AM PDT My last trip to Europe was 5 years ago. I was told at the time the rate of exchange at the airports in Europe was a rip off. So I ordered by currency from a local bank, which claimed to "waive" the fee. After watching the rates until they were what I thought to be my best, I found that the bank used an entirely different rate, much to the advantage of the bank. Should I order currency here or wait to I get to England and Italy? Answer on How do you get the best exchange rates on currency ? Best rate / way is use to use your ATM card and withdraw cash.

The EU says Spain's economy is safe, when will the UK be bailing it out? Posted: 09 Apr 2011 08:37 PM PDT Before the Greek disaster, the EU said Greece was a safe economy, then the UK stepped in with billions to shore up their economy. Now it looks as if they will be back for more UK Taxpayer money by November. After Greece, the EU said Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Italy were safe economies. Then Ireland ran to the EU, ECB and the UK to beg for money to save their economy. That cost the UK Taxpayer billions. Now they are talking of Ireland returning for more bail out money before Christmas. But not to miss a trick, the EU said Portugal's, Spain's and Italy's economies were safe. Now Portugal has come running begging for a bail out, costing the UK Taxpayer billions as well. Who knows when they will be back for another hand out after this one. Ever consistent, the EU says that Spain's and Italy's economies are safe. So, when do you think that Spain will come running with the begging bowl? I give it until January 2012. What do you think? Answer on The EU says Spain's economy is safe, when will the UK be bailing it out? when it collapses under interest rate changes designed to ease Germany's phobia of inflation.
Cheap Trains from London To Italy ? Posted: 09 Apr 2011 02:49 PM PDT I Need to travel (as cheaply as possible) To Italy i need to get to somewhere near regio de calabria in italy doesn't need to be too close though,Can anyone help me with what the train station in italy is called and how much it will cost me ? Or any other ways of travelling there cheaply as i normally fly to lamezia by ryanair but they have now stopped it. any other airlines ???? thanks Answer on Cheap Trains from London To Italy ? Hi 'The man in seat 61' is a brilliant resource for rail travel in Europe - here's what he has to say: "London to Italy by train? Why not? It's remarkably easy, comfortable and affordable, in fact, it's amazing that some people still think you need to fly. Take Eurostar from London to Paris in just 2 hours 25 minutes from ?59 return, then travel by direct overnight sleeper train from Paris to Milan, Florence, Rome, Verona or Venice for as little as ?30 each way including a sleeping berth for the night. This page explains the best routes, train times, fares, what the trains are like, and how to buy tickets." http://www.seat61.com/Italy.htm Overnight trains in Europe are fine - you will usually share a cabin with a couple of same-sex people. You can do overnight Paris to Rome then a 7 hour train down south... Alternatively there are indirect flights...try www.skyscanner.net - you can fly to Regio de Calabria or Lamezia. Have fun!
Where can i look for people willing to help me? Posted: 09 Apr 2011 10:42 AM PDT Im from italy and I have to write scripts that could sound natural and discorsive like any english person would say and think things. And I'm looking for someone who could help me on a long term relationship. Very likely this is going to be paid so don't be scrooge and give me a hand... I don't care wheter it's male or female. I only appreciate somebody who's patient and nice.. No translations required, just making mine best for english audiance presentation Answer on Where can i look for people willing to help me? I have to say, just like in Italy, people from England don't think and say the same things across the whole country, it depends on your upbringing, what part of the UK you were born in, what education you have, moral values, your age, your experience in life............. maybe one of the best sources of information for you is to look at the TV 'soaps' 'Eastender' which is set in suburbs of working class London(South), Coronation Street, set in the suburbs of working class Manchester(North) and Emmerdale, set in a village location in Yorkshire ( North).............that way you can see 'real' life examples played out and I have to say it really is real life...my mums lives in a village in the Midlands and there are enough things happening to write a never ending script for TV and several thigs from that village have been used as one of Emmerdale's scrift writers lives in the same village as my mum, as does one of the 'stars' who are in the soap..............then if you get stuck with what people would think / say/feel about a situation...put it in a question on YA and ask and you will find you will get lots of different answers. Add: then you have clearly missed my point ..with me being English it must have got lost in the translation.... you want a list of people who will tell you what English people would accept as if it was written from an 'English' writer, how things would be phased and said! Read again it may make some sense to you now....if not then you certainly have some work to do for an English audience.

If your circumstances have changed i.e you wish to live in Italy and you need to change the terms of your order you or your PO can apply to the court which gave the order stating your reasons, if the court feels that you have completely complied with the conditions and have addressed and worked with your PO the court is able to change the order, you need to speak to your PO regarding this. |
