Najib's wankers report agst Anwar: Half a football team's semen found on Saiful Written by Wong Choon Mei, Malaysia Chronicle

The DNA 'evidence' that Prime Minister Najib Razak prided himself on when making out the sodomy charges against Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim has boomeranged and become a laughing stock for the nation.

"This is really ridiculous. Instead of a DNA or chemist report, it is starting to look like a real wankers report," PKR vice president Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.

He was referring to the court hearing against Anwar, who has been accused of sodomising his aide Saiful Bukhari Azlan at a posh condominium in Kuala Lumpur in 2008.

So far, the government's DNA expert Dr Seah Lay Hong has admitted that 5 DNA profiles of semen from 5 different males had been found on Saiful's anus and pants. One of the samples was his. The other four have yet to be identified.

The 63-year old Anwar has denied the charges and accused Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor of plotting the conspiracy with Saiful for the purpose of derailing his political comeback.

On Monday, Anwar's counsel Ramkarpal Singh accused Dr Seah of failing to comply with basic international guidelines of DNA profiling, saying that the chemist report was "biased".

In a well-attended courtroom, Ramkarpal questioned the government's DNA profiling report, claiming that it failed to include two more unknown DNA profiles.

"It seems like half a football team's DNA is found but you chose not to report it," Malaysian Insider reported Ramkarpal as saying in court.

When asked why she did not report it, Dr Seah replied she did not find the readings "significant".

Ramkarpal also said that despite graph readings which showed two more unknown DNA profiles in Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan's lower rectum and on his black trousers, Dr Seah did not put the findings in the chemist report.

Refused to answer

So far, Dr Seah has agreed that there were three DNA profiles involved in the case — that of Male Y, an unknown DNA profile and Saiful's. The additional two pointed out by Ramkarpal would make a total of 5 different semen samples.

"The reading not reported although it had a high reading," Ramkarpal persisted.

But Dr Seah refused to answer his question. Earlier when Judge Zabidin Mohd Diah asked why she did not follow international guidelines, Seah also failed to respond.

"She has failed to follow crucial guidelines... I am going on guidelines here. I have suggested to her certain scenarios which paint a different picture from what she has suggested," Ramkarpal told reporters later. He was referring to the International Society of Genetic Forensics.
